Lecture: Organs and Organ Music in Slovene Cultural History until the Cecilian Movement

The doctoral thesis entitled Organs and Organ Music in Slovene Cultural History until the Cecilian Movement Bildschirmfoto 2016-02-16 um 15.57.40will be presented by Katarina Trček, a member of the Slovenian partner group of the HERA MusMig project. The doctoral thesis explores the history of organ building in Slovenia from the beginning of the first half of the 15th century to the second half of the 19th century. The aim of this dissertation is to present the spreading of organ instruments in modern Slovene history and to evaluate this process from the standpoint of Slovene musical and cultural history. After the presentation the opening of the exhibition Travelling organ builders and the interweaving of their paths in Carniola: The tradition of organ workshop of Marcus Göbl will follow. The exhibition will be opened until 21 February 2016.
