Ivan Zajc Conference

A bit beyond our scope on the 17th and 18th century, but nevertheless of interest: The international musicological conference on the Croatian composer and conductor Ivan Zajc (1832-1914).

Zajc is considered the “key personality of Croatian music during the last third of the 19th century” and was active in Rijeka, Milan, Vienna and Zagreb. His heritage consists of more than 1,000 compositions, amongst those operas and operettas, oratorios and masses, songs and chamber music. The Ivan Zajc conference will take place on October 16-18, 2014, at the Palace of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
